Three-Month Extension for Filing Highway Use Tax Return

The IRS has extended the filing date for Form 2290, Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return, to November 30, 2011. The highway use tax is set to expire on September 30, 2011. The extension is designed to alleviate any confusion and possible multiple filings if Congress reinstates the tax.
